Making friends

Just loved making this page! I've had this photo for a while but just got round to working with it. It's one of my favourite pictures as it shows the daughter of a friend and my dog. The little girl was terrified of dogs until that moment. She trusted me to keep her safe and my dog Meg was very well behaved. They are now great friends which is lovely.
Thanks to my friend for letting me blog this picture.

Bumpy + one

Sorry folks. there should have been two pics on Bumpy's item, but I lost connection halfway through and couldn't work out how to add it this morning(derrr.. told you I was a technophobe!)

For Bumpy

This is a card I have made for my sister's new baby(who hasn't arrived yet).

The main card is made from a set of black glitter cards I bought off the TV,

the rest is made up from scraps.

Arbor Low

Sometimes I like to keep a page very simple. In this case, the serenity of the scene would have been lost if I had gotten carried away with the embellishments.
I used a subtle printed page and lightly over stamped with Anna Griffin black ink pad, which leaves a faded image. I stamped the butterflies again on the same paper, cut them out and raised them on foam pads. No bling at all.
I'd taken a sequence of photos at the site and overlapped 3 to form a panoramic view. If I knew how to take close-ups of the pages you would be able to see Chunky Monkey on the far left, standing on top of the burial mound.

shipwrecked

Having lots of photos of boys they don't always suit the floral papers I like, so here's one using DCW vaccation papers.

The background is a combination of sand textured, pale blue and green stripe. The borders across are cut from a single sheet and are embossed and glittered(palm trees and waves)

Sometimes it's worth printing extra copies of photos and cutting them up for a different look to a page. Scary but I think effective.

When I was a lad...

This layout was inspired after a visit to Natty's Blog. I haven't copied her layout as such, but enjoyed her use of deeper colour, when I would have naturally gone for icier ones.

I have used warmer blues and chocolate browns, including chocolate brown ink for stamping. The florally flourish stamp is from an old Cee Dee's set.

I cut a hole in the main background sheet and rolled back the edges to give a feeling of " peeping out through the letter box". Punched and layered flowers in co-ordinating colours with bronze brads for centres. I cut the scollaped edges with fancy scissors.
This page is for when Chunky Monkey is telling his kids "this isn't snow, we had real snow when I was a lad!"

shorty shorts

Found these unbelievably cute pictures of my now grown up son, who now thinks black and white stripes are a bold fashion statement.

So I reached for my wad of Brenda Pinnock papers and "Viola!"

I used 3 co-ordinating papers from Brenda Pinnock's Sucerie collection, with Totally Round template by Colour My World. Sunflower and alphabet stamps by Anna Griffen to over stamp with chocolate dye ink pad. A touch of icicle stickles in flower centres, and a flora doodle to finish.

Hope it makes you smile x x x
