Butterflies !

I realised I haven't used any Butterflies on my cards for a while now, so I thought I'd make a card for Flutter By Wednesday's Challenge#124 "sparkle and shimmer".

I've stamped the butterflies with metallic ink and embossed with holographic EP. I used the same process for the centre circle, which is cut with a Nellie Snedden frame di. The layout was inspired by Anything Goes Challenge#18 "Going Round in Circles"

Glitterbabe meets Elephantastic!

This week at Glitterbabes we are priviliged to be sponsored by Elephantastic, who grasciously allowed us one of their images "Sketchy Snowman" to play with. Isn't he just gorgeous!!!

The theme this week is EMBOSSING , your choice which variety, dry, heat, by machine or by hand (or any form I don't know about yet). Just show us that gorgeous texture!!!

I know it's difficult to see(pearlescent white card isn't easy to photograph), but I have embossed wavy lines down the edge of my card using a Keepsake board(by the Glitter Girls, pale green can't remember what it's called). Then I wanted to emboss on the space by the snowman with my cuttle bug folder, but because of the position it wouldn't fit in the machine sooooo... and I'm sure someone is going to scream..... I trapped the card in the folder(snowflake christmas tree) where I wanted the embossing, and rubbed over it with my bone folder. And it worked, though I am not advising it as it may damage the folder if this is done on a regular basis!!

Some gentle colouring with promarkers, and some large blue bling for bottons, and I'm very pleased with the finished result.:D XXX
I am entering this card for;
One Stop Crafts #99 "snowflakes in September"
Stamping Vacation's "White Space"

What to do with ATC's ?

A while back I decided that I didn't like storing ATC's in a box. I like to look at them, they are after ll, little works of art! So I came up with this idea. I had a large piece of hardboard left over from a broken clip frame(saved cos it might come in useful haha!), so I gave it a thin coat of emulsion paint to seal it(rough side) inked it a bit, wanted to decorate it more but no point as the decoration is the atc's! Threaded a piece of strong ribbon through 2 of the clip holes and "Hey Presto" an ATC display board.

I've placed all the atc's in celephane bags, then attatched them to the board using "sticky dots". This way I can peel them off to read the detais on the back :D
Sorry pics are a bit dull, have you looked outside lately :) XXX

Vintage bag !

Does this count as back linking? I made a twinchie a few months ago for a challenge, but wanted to use it in another project, so I scanned it and have used that image(now 7"x7") to decorate a plain bag.
I have printed the image onto transfer paper and ironed it onto the bag, then glued on the buttons with pinflair. The images are from Dezinaworld/Art Freebies
I would like to enter it for a few challenges, but will totally understand if it is not accepted :D
This piece was inspired by;
MAWTT#65"to do list" (I chose Vintage image/buttons/new technique)
Thank you XXX

Glitterbabes Challenge 13 !!

This is my DT card for Glitterbabe's Challenge this week. Stef has given us a sketch to work with. I've turned it on it's side, the white panel is a piece of sparkly white glitter board(though it doesn't show on puter:(), and the sentiment is cut with a sissix border di. The flower image is "Sweet Brair" from Glitterbabe Art, cut out with a Nellie Snellen oval frame cutter, and the small flowers are made with 2 different flower punches. The dp is from DCWV Summer Dreams.
Also, this saturday, Glitterbabe is one of the many sponsors for Stanping Vacations "Homemade with a Hop" Nice one Denise, I'll be there "with bells on" as they say :D XXX

Monochrome Christmas

I've used Scrappy's Sketch #57 over on Bugaboo Stamps "Catch the Bug Challenge Blog" to format this card. It is quite a clean n simple sketch so I combined it with a few Christmas challenges. I can see now that I should have inked the edges of the panels to make them stand out more. The papers are from DCWV "Summer Dream", but I think they work fine on a christmas card :D The sentiment panel and poinsetta flowers are from Anna Griffen.
I am entering it in the following challenges;
MAWTT#64 "Christmas"
Bah Humbug#36 "Text"
Winter Wonderland# "Monochrome"
Just Inspiration#12 "Christmas"

Dezina Oriental Birthday

Haven't made a birthday card for ages, and when I saw these "Quite Contrary"papers by My Minds Eye that Jen sent me I couldn't resist making a girly card. The oriental lady is a freebie from Dezinaworld. and their challenge this week is "stained glass", so I printed her out onto acetate, then mounted the image onto silver mirror board to get a very reflective effect. I fixed the acetate to the board with 3 button brads.
I have made this card for the following challenges;
Crafty Little Place# Recipe 1flower/2dp's/3buttons
Dezinaworld Challenge# Stained Glass
Flutter By Wednesdays#122 Buttons
Anything Goes Challenge Blog#16 Oriental
Totally Papercraft#34 Happy Birthday

Hip Not To Be Square!!!

Howdy Folks! And welcome to the latest challenge at Cowgirls Sundays :D Thank you to everyone who helped us in collecting cards for Soldiers over the last week, they will be greatly appreciated :)
This week the Cowgirls are being sponsored by Delicious Doodles.

For my "not sqaure" card I have used CJ's image "Worm" and a flowerpot template from Stamp+Fun=Creativity(which I didn't get chance to use for their challenge) I added a tent fold to the pot base so it is free standing. The fabulous di-cut flowers I have had forever, and found them while searching through my stash collecting for my candy the other week :D

The tag pulls out so you can leave a secret message, how fun is that!!

I will be giving this to my mum, as she has been a bit down recently with my dad being in hospital :D

I am entering it in the following challenges;

Auds Sentiments#11 "Cheer Up!"

Important Message!!

This week the Cowgirls are promoting a card drive for Operation Write Home, who package up greetings cards for servicemen/women overseas to send back to their families and friends, and we would love it if as many of you as possible could join us in helping them stock up on Christmas/Holiday cards this week.

We are being sponsored by Whiff of Joy and Whimsy Stamps, and we will be having a 1st and 2nd prize, as well as a Top 6, for this very special challenge.

In addition to the challenge prizes, we are asking people to promote our card drive by posting this badge

on their blog and sidebar, then linking back to the challenge blog. Any one who would like to help us this way will be entered into a draw for a seperate prize, by way of a thank you :D

The image I have used on my card is "Deer" from CJ's collection at Cowgirls-Up Designs . You will notice that I haven't used any glitter on my card. This is because modern glitters are very reflective, which means if a soldier gets any on him/her they are visible with night vision glasses, and therefore a target. Difficult though it may be, please do not use any glitter on your cards!!(more info here) There is an address on the Cowgirls Challenge blog that you can mail your finished cards to(as many as you would like to make, I will certainly be making more!!). They will then be passed on to OWH where they will be packaged to be sent to the overseas troops.
All Politics aside, these people are far from their families, and is a nice feeling to think we can help them keep in touch :)
Thank you for your time, and I hope you can help us to help them XXX

New Challenge At Glitterbabes!!!!

Morning folks, another beautiful day, another wonderful challenge from the Glitterbabe :D
Actually we thought it would be nice to do something especially for Glitterbabe this challenge, so we would like you to trot off to her "freebies" pile, choose an image, and use it in a project. She very happily runs her challenge just to see all our "sparkly" creations, and even told the DT that we didn't have to use her images when we first started up(can you believe that!!). Of course I always have :D
This is one of my fav freebies "Birdhouse"
So your challenge this week is simply to go to the Babes art shop, "Free Up A Freebie" , and show the Glitterbabe we love her :D
