A nice surprise :D

When I won the Do You Stack Up challenge last week, I had used a Stamping Boutique image, so those lovely ladies at TSB contacted me to say I could have a free image as a thank you!!! How cool is that ??
So I chose there "Praying Hands" image. I thought it would make some lovely Easter cards.

I resized, and printed the image directly onto the base card, then cut round the hands to make an unusual shaped card. This image could work equally well for a sympathy card :)

Off to the beach!!

Howdy folks, this weeks challenge at Creative Cowgirls is Hawaii/Beach.
We thought everyone might be in need of a little sunshine :D I know I am!!
Yet I decided to make a monochromatic card in blue, but I was thinking "warm blue ocean" mmmmm.......... :)
I used this "Undersea Friends" image by Michelle Perkett, who is our sponsor this time round, and is graciously offering 3 images to the winner, and 1 image to each of the Top3 :D

Blowing in the wind

Couldn't wait to share this gorgeous image I chose as part of my prize for winning last weeks Do You Stack Up challenge. She is called "Wind in my Hair" and is from A Day For Daisies

I chose her for Prairie Fairy Friday Challenge#120, inspired by a song. This image brought the song "The answer is blowing in the Wind" to mind. You know, the one that starts "Where have all the flowers gone?", which lead nicely to One Stop Crafts challenge#120 Spring Flowers and All Sorts Challenge#92 Make your own Flowers.
So, while I was making my own flowers(stylised daffodils), thought I might as well make my own buttons for Delicious Doodles challenge#14 :D
Now all I needed was a sketch, so I went for Stamping Vacations Build a Sketch challenge. This is quite a useful challenge if your ever stuck for layout ideas, as they have a set list of layering elements and just give your a selection to work with.
The dp's are from Paper Artsy's Rum n Raisin collection, edged with Tim Holtz Mustard Seed ink.

For a special freind

Todays card is a tag shaped card. I only shaped the front panel, so I decorated the inner back page with a smaller rose stamp from Anna Griffin. The large rose is from the Anna Griffin "say it with flowers" stamp collection. (the text is also one of Anna's) Yep I'm an Annna Griffin junkie :S
Promised myself I wouldn't spend til pay day, but Anna was on QVC soooo.... had to buy the 100 papers, they don't come round very often ;)

I got the idea for the paper weave section from watching "guess who" on tuesday. I cut out the tag shape, using a Colour My World template (papers from DCWV Summer Dream matstack). I then cut slits into the body of the tag, before weaving strips of contrasting paper through, taping on reverse. I am very pleased with the effect :D The rose is coloured with promarkers.

Fairy Swansong

With all the vibrant colours people are using at the moment, I felt inspired to make this birthday card for a few challenges, using an image I chose as a prize recently. The image is called " Swan Song" by Tracy Malinofski, and is available from The Stamping Boutique.

The dp's are from the Wild Blossom collection by Katie Knight. I have coloured the image with promarkers, and the flowers I made myself from white felt. I cut them with an old cuttlebug die, and then coloured the felt with my promarkers. (just dab the ink on as it will spread as it drys). Some faux stitching and a little diamond stickles to finish. :D

This card was inspired by the following challenges;
Flutter By Wednesdays#143 Anything Goes(must inc butterfly/angel/fairy)
Fab n Funky#61 Recipe 1 image/2 embellies/3 papers
ABC challenge# O is for Oval (only 4 other challenges)
Creative Belli#111 Use Felt/fabric (forgotten stash, old papers and flower die)

Treat for Aunt Jeanne

Just a quick heads up about a candy draw for a good cause. A blogging buddy is asking for help to cheer on her hubby's Aunt, who is being treated for breast cancer. Aunt Jeanne collects postcards, so Stacie is trying to collect some from around the world as a treat. I sent 3 earlier this month but forgot to post about it. If you would like to help out you can contact Stacie through her blog All Things Crafty (and read more about Aunt Jeanne)
There is still time to be entered for the draw, and many people have donated extra gifts for the candy pile, so why not pop over and take a look?

The draw will take place on 1st March :D XXX

Inspired by nature

Quite a simple card really, just using the colours brown and blue.
I have used Jayne Nettley Mayhew's "Cow" stamp set to create the pattern on the background and the topper. The dp's are from V&A museum collection.

Rainbow Bright Birthday

Now this card is definitely much more colourful than I would normally make, but I need a bit of sunshine :D
The image is "Frolicking Fairies" by Tracy Malinofski, and is available from Stamping Boutique.

I made the dotty base card with assorted inks and a fullstop stamp from an alphabet set :)
The orange nad yellow flowers are homemade using 2 sizes of flower punch, the smaller ones again dotted with the fullstop.
Coloured with promarkers, and loads of sparkle added.

Pretty Pastels

Gosh! Where did this week go?? Hardly done any crafting at all, but I have finally got round to making a card with one of the images I received for my donation to Jak Heaths "Help for Katie" fund raiser.
When I say "one " of the images, Jak actually gave a whole digi pack, so the shoe/sentiment/spotty paper and floral paper are all from the gift set! The set is actually black n white, but I've used promarkers to add a bit of colour.
There is still time to make a donation, and be in a draw for heaps of goodies, kindly donated to help raise funds for a young mum battling cancer. Just click on the "Help For Katie" link in my sidebar Pleeeeeease!! :)

Promarkers used; pear green/carnation pink/pastel blue
Edges inked using Tim Holtz worn lipstick and faded jeans.
Challenges I have made this for are;
Jak Heath# Thank you! card competition (must use an image from the Help for Katie set)
Hope you like it, very girly for me :D XXX

Simply Thinking of You!

I made this card for a few challenges today, though the original inspiration came from Stamping Vacations Lots of paper challenge# looks like material.

The image is one I won from Simply Betty Stamps last month, and is called "Tiff" from the new Lil Tots range.
The background papers were both freebies, the base "woven fabric" paper was from Dezinaworld. The "layered n torn sacking" paper was from Art Creation Fridays
And just a quick bit of bragging...
