Made it in time for mother's day :D

I don't usually make cards from kits, but I couldn't resist the new Fairyopolis collection from Crafter's Companion. I just LURVE Cicely Mary Barker's Flower Fairies!!!!
Both these cards are made from the card kit, I only added the lace and the scrunchy rose centres to the flowers. Everything else is from the kit.

This 1st card is for my MIL who loves deep reds,

and this green willow card is for my mum (like willow, me and my mum rarely have shoes on :D)

Challenges I am entering these cards for are;

Creative Cowgirls Spring/Easter Challenge Hop

Hi Folks :D Thank you for sticking with us through the linky problems, your monochromatic creations have been absolutely glorious :D
Today we are celebrating Spring/Easter with the super cute Chi Chi Memories!
The dt were given 3 images to work with, and I chose to use all 3.

I used the Happy Easter 05 image(chick in egg) to make a border, which I cut out. Then I printed lots of Happy Easter 07(flowers) coloured with promarkers and cut out to build a second border over the chicks. The cute bunnies are Happy Easter 01, and I just had to have a whole bunch of those :D

Chi Chi Memories are kindly offering 3images for the challenge winner, and 1 image each to the Top3

In addition, the fabulous Crafty Ribbons have donated yet another gorgeous ribbon selection,

which will be awarded to the winner of the Hop, who will also be offered the chance to join us as a Guest DT member for our April17th and June 1st challenges!!

Your a star!

Yes, I can do girly cards, I just don't have ny use for them myself in a house full of males :D
But as I give my cards to a charity shop to sell, I can get away with a few "Totally Girly" ones.

I embossed the Star cut out with a Country Companions folder by Docrafts.
Challenges I have made this card for are;
Stamping Vacation Inspiration challenge# Crocus in snow photo(colours used)
Tuesday Throwdown#40 Add lace ( used lace stamp to decorate Die cut hearts, and shoelace effect with twine)
Charisma Cards# 11To "Die" For (die cut hearts, decoupage and star mat)

Creative Cowgirls Challenge# monochrome

OMG!! What a nightmare!! We really do apologise for the mayhem during the last challenge. I was so looking forward to seeing all your lovely sunshine, but the Linky thing just wouldn't play! Some days it was there, some days it wasn't, then it just gave up all together. Rach had to set up a different linky during the second week of the challenge, and hopefully we won't have this problem again.

Any hoo, this week we got to play with some stunning images from Delicious Doodles. I chose to use shades of blue (I know! I'm getting help, honest, but I love blue :D )

I used Tim Holtz distress stickles for a subtle shimmer on the centres of the lillies, and used promarkers to colour match the peel offs. I also embossed the bottom section of the card with an embossing folder to add interest without making it over fussy.
A helpful thing to do when deciding on what colour to choose, is to start with a background paper(mine is from Paper Artsy Rum n Raisin collection), then colour your images to match. I find it easier to stick to a rigid palette that way.

Delicious Doodles are kindly donating 3 images of choice for the winner of this challenge, and 1 each for the Top3 :D
So fingers crossed, and don't forget we are building up to our Easter Hop, so be sure to give it a mention for a chance to win some extra candy for your stash.

Flutter By Wednesdays#145 Photo Inspiration( I used shades of blue from sky+clouds and close up flowers as focal point)

Monochromania?

Is it possible that I have developed a a case of galloping "Monochromania" ? I am not meaning to make so many monochrome cards, they just seem to be happening!!

Todays card is "mostly" Green :D and is for the following challenges;
Crafty Pad#111 Use Ribbon (broad satin under lace)
Alphabet Challenge# R is for Ribbon(broad satin under lace)

Background paperis from Joanna Sheens Country Cottage cd. and the butterfly image is a stamp called "Peacock on Lilac" from Funstamps. I used "pearly stuff" on some of the lilac flowers to add dimension.

On another note, I would like to point out that we have been having problems with the linky thing over at Creative Cowgirls Challenge, and have had to change to a different gadget. The current challenge Beach/Hawaii is still running, so if you would like to share a little sunshine with us, your entries are still welcome :D
