What's your hurry?

This weeks theme at The Butterfly Effect has been set by the lovely Luna
She has called her theme "Little Monsters Everywhere"
(scanned image of finished piece, you can still see the texture of the wall through the inks)

Now whenever I need to draw a weird and wonderful creature/monster, I go to the toilet....because the walls have very rough 80's artex on them. I "find" faces staring at me from all angles, so it was perfect for this challenge. I took a photo of a section of the wall and printed it onto super smooth paper...
then started picking out images...
...black fineliner was better lol
Saw a workman running in fear, hanging on to his cap...
...surrounded by his imaginings :D Me thinks he needs an early night lol
Used pro markers cool grey #4 to add depth..
and a selection of muted colours to highlight the images. I coloured over the ink jet printed image and it didn't bleed because I dried it well first.
Wanted a darker background, but not black, so went over with cool grey#5
Loved this major "doodle":d Thanks for the inspiration LUNA

  3. Your little monsters are extra cute! My favorite is the tree eye frog, what a beauty!

I can honestly say that I have no idea what I will come up with, but I have been picturing five-year-old zombies, vampires, wendigos... and all kinds of creepy little beauties ;-)

  5. Lol, Gina! I would be afraid to go to your toilet. :)) I don't like faces looking at me when I'm doing my business. :) But I love how many people you managed to get out of that wall.

    P.S. I'm doing fine. ;)

  7. This workman must be one of the ones who dig the holes in the middle of the road which then no-one goes near until the next workman comes along, a week later, to do the work. He then come back a week later to fill the hole in again. I can only image these are all the bad thoughts that people have about him causing chaos, chasing him down the street. We all know he has a job to do but being human we have to have someone to blame for the chaos caused. Great doodle. I love things like this, every time you look at it you see something you've missed before. :-) xx
