A truly Gothic Bride!

Finally...Magaly told people on her blog yesterday that she is getting married soon, so I can show you the special gift I have been making for her :D

Anyone who knows Magaly is fully aware of her love of red and black and all things creepy. She is also an amazing writer and friend.
When I first looked through a new doll making book by Jane Horrox I'd bought I knew the first doll I made would be for Magaly.
I took the Tim Holtz fabrics I had bought in the winter(because I NEEDED it) and the Morwenna Doll design from the book and The Bloody Bride was born.

The sleeves of her dress are TH's Dictionary print fabric...
she has daisy patterned fishnet tights...
her gloves are the same netting with the addition of soft leather wrist straps and daisy buttons.
The dress itself is made from TH's Subway fabric.
 Her face is painted fabric...
and her hair wild and sparkly...
and she has a red organza veil :D
Of course, no bridal outfit is complete without her own chatelaine. Instead of keys I have given her a bumble bee(me), a red hot chilli pepper(Magaly), and a skull(our bond is so much more than skin deep).
She is now parcelled up and in the hands of the Royal mail service...winging her way to my dear friend. I would have loved to be at her wedding (I is her surrogate Mom), but I will be there in spirit.
Enjoy :D XXX

Sorry,I don't blog when I is sad....

Those of you that know me on Face Book already know that we had to let Meggy go at the weekend. She was much poorlier than she was showing. This photo was only taken on the 30th of April (last month), but it turned out she had several cancerous tumours in her mammary glands. She was facing a very painful end, so we decided to let her leave before that happened. A very difficult decision to make, but I would never let my dogs suffer if I could help it.
Hubby let me have this peaceful statue to place over her grave...to mark the resting place of a very peaceful soul.
So that's why I haven't been around much lately...
but now I am back!
I am making dolls....but I can't show you yet as it is too much fun teasing Magaly
I have also been keeping up with my Soul Food classes....
Lesson 39 with Jeanette House
and lesson 42 with Dana Christiansen

I will be back. Bright and breezy...I promise...(even though we have yet another school break this week gah!)
Enjoy :D XXX

We definitely have too many school breaks in Spring!

2 weeks off at end of April...back at school for 1 week then a long weekend for May Day + a day off for Teacher training! ...and all while sitting mocks and practice exams....I think they need some serious rationalisation of school breaks.
Rant over
Any hoo.... I have been busy working on my Soul Food classes, and enjoying every one of them.
Class 34 - painting on collaged fabric with Patti Ballard
Class 35 - Transparent layering with Mystele Kirkeeng
Lesson 36 - Old albums into art with Jaqcui Fehl...
and just because I don't do enough art lol...I joined a new monthly challenge called
This is my WIP of a sunset with chalk pastels for this months challenge.

Of course I have also been out in the garden while the sun was shining *emphasis on WAS*
All my fruit trees are in blossom...including the holly bushes :D

So I am a fairly happy bunny right now...Oh, and Jogg survived hibernation and has started grumbling lol
Enjoy :D XXX
