Smile!

This week saw the start of a new "Quoth the Raven Challenge"
Challenge #40 is "Snow Poe" ...create something Poesque using white + 1 other colour...
Had to go with black didn't I?

Quote from "The Raven"
("Then this ebony bird beguiling my sad face into smiling...")

I had worked on this icon before so it needed several coats of gesso and paint to block the colours, but it did leave some yummy texture :D

I already knew the images from Itkupilli I wanted to use.
Printed out onto plain copy paper the images bond nicely to the wood and painted surface.
I typed out the quote and printed, before cutting up and edging the words with black distress ink.

Couldn't resist that smile :D
But it was just lacking a little something...
Black Diamond stickles!
and a bit of highlighting :D

Enjoy :D XXX

  7. Poe would approve and probably write a tale about it. Love the black and white balance. And the sight of black evoking smiles. 😊
