A stitch in time....

In my last post I showed a pic of a new apron I was making...
this is why.
I've had this apron for 30 years, and it is literally falling apart, so I bought a paper pattern...
and made my basic apron. But how to make it "mine"?
That's when Quoth the Raven posted their latest challenge...
a whole list of things from which to pick 3 to use on your entry.
I chose Flowers, Red and Stitching
and made myself some very shabby flowers with layers of fabric scraps, over-stitched with red thread.
I stitched these onto the neckline of my apron...
but I felt my apron lacked "Poe-ness"
so I searched for an appropriate quote to hand stitch across my pinny...
From "In Youth I Have Known One"
the sentiment "How often we forget all time..." seemed just perfect.
How true it is. How many times have you been caught up in a craft project and lost track of time?
I do it at least once a day lol

Now off to get messy, mwahahaha.....:D XXX

  2. I've seen that artist's apron pattern online - it's really cute sewn up the way you've done it, with the shabby flowers and quote. It's hard to give up an old apron, but I'm sure the new one will look very lived in shortly, amirite? :)
