A sense of "self"

This weeks prompt from
I have just rejoined a Spiritual Circle and was reminded
of the ChakrArt class I did yeas ago with the lovely Simona of Timeless Rituals.
This was the first page of the journal I made
to help me understand the journey I was going through.

My "Self"

Where am "I"?
Lost in this never ending, spiralling Universe...
I am HERE!
Burning brightly in the darkness for others to find.

Who am "I"?
Buried in the depths of everyone else's life...
I am "ME"!
Digging and churning to revive sagging roots.

Why am "I"?
Swirling and struggling to survive in the bottom of life's barrel...
Because I am "WHOLE"
The crumb of humanity to sustain you til better times.

Invisible Me
supporting you constantly
because I am whole.
...

When it comes to "identity" and self worth,
having what some may see as a "lesser" role in life
does not mean you are less of a person.
In the great scheme of things,
the person who takes away your rubbish is
just as important as the Manager of the company
you work for.

Enjoy :D XXX

  4. The poem is a profound as the art, Gina. I will never understand why some people look down on those who do the "dirty work". Can't they imagine what would happen if every sanitation worker refuse to take away the trash? We would be covered in filth figurative and literally.

  6. Those very searching questions of what, who and why come to mind Gina, sometimes we have answers, sometimes we don't, but we never stop looking for them xxx

  7. Each one of us is a separate world revolving much like the Earth around the Sun. We are complex wild and unexplored at times or a raging sea then a deep forest or a tinkling steam or alone in the desert just as in the world we live in.

  8. I absolutely agree with your postscript - and love how you have addressed those universal questions in your unique way - whole is very important - and take a fair well to understand and express.. on which snaps ;)

The thankless lot. They make life better for others but are not appreciated or are even condemned. Great you highlighted them, Gina!
