Gypsy Dance.....Gypsy Sing....

Time for our next challenge at

sponsored by PpinkyDolls Art

*using Little Gypsy*

In a previous challenge I saw a gorgeous creation by Aunty Sue
that reminded me how much I enjoy making wall hangers.
*using recycled store bought ones*

...and as I was "tidying" my stash I came across this stunning
single sheet of glittered card.

I had to cut and join it to fit the mdf board,
but was able to conceal the join under a lace flower and
layered sentiment :D
*you can just see the sparkle from the glitter to the left*

I knew I was going to use that darling Little Gypsy image in this
gorgeous meadow,
and it was easy to match up the colours from my Promarker stash.
Then I spotted my yummy Bee die I bought on sale...
3 inches across it cut out beautifully first time!
Set on a piece of cream card stock, added acetate to wings and
glittered on the underside..I love it!

Inspired by one of my fav All About Eve tracks Gypsy Dance
" In a Circle...in a Ring....
Gypsy Dance....Gypsy Sing..."

Long time no see...

Sorry for the lack of blogging last week,
hubby booked a week off work*extremely rare occurrence*
Last time I saw you I mentioned ribbon storage...
tis now full and on my sewing desk
*already more than in this pic lol*
Much easier to find that perfect match now :D
It is a "build it yourself" unit from
Stamps Away...doddle to put together
and fun to decorate :D

My Bestie turned up on Monday with a pressie.
She found this glass dome at christmas,
but was too poorly to do anything with it
*also she was struggling to give it away lol*

She made the black sparkly rose and motto for inside
and I love it...AND
she made it removable cos
"I thought you might want to put other stuff in it through the year"
# knows me so well :D

While Hubby was pacing about we/I decided to join
and the first place we visited was
which was AMAZING!!!!

I took 155 photos*which I will spare you for now*
We went right up onto the top of the tower...
and this was looking down lol.

I have also been busy sewing...
new cushion covers and a new bag...
 which is reversible!!!
*Steampunk fabrics from C&C*

And then yesterday we went to
I went in the 70's on a school trip.
In those days we couldn't go inside,
but could climb up the walls lol
Now it is the other way around,
which is fortunate
as I don't think I would have survived
climbing up the wall at my age :D
*yes we went up on the roof of the tower*
All in all a very enjoyable week,
even if having hubby home for 10 days
was like babysitting a hyperactive toddler.

Now he is back at work I shall be enjoying the peace and quiet
and mostly cross stitching.

Thank you Virginia for constantly spiking
my desire for adventure :D

All About the Love...

is the title of Challenge #148
 at

Our sponsor this week is
I received "ROSE" from the Funky Flower collection.
This digi comes as a single flower in colour
and as a line drawing to colour yourself.
I decided to alter one of my 25p mdf boards...
so I took the images into my graphics programme
and used them to create the main decor paper,
which I printed and cut to size.
I glued the paper directly to the board
and sanded around the edges.
Next I used distress inks and a water brush to add
a subtle bit of colour to the smaller roses...
This really throws the main pre coloured images forward.

I then used promarkers to age the white...

and add shadow to the main blooms.

To heighten the "luxury" of this piece
I used Debbie Moore's Gold Embossing powder
around the edges.
The edges came out a bit uneven, but I like the effect.
Another Papermania mini alphabet stamp set
and some clear embossing powder to create
the legend
"It's All About The Love"
And it even matches my wallpaper :D

Enjoy :D XXX

Shelter Yourself

It's time for
over at
and our sponsor is once again the fabulous

I wanted to get away from card making again
as we often forget to use digi images in other kinds of project.
This is a clearance item...mdf 11 and a half inch square panel
(one of my 25p per item haul)
I keyed the surface with sandpaper before gluing a sheet of 12x12
scrapbook paper on to it.
I just Luuuuurve the Birch tree papers...
I tore strips with trees on to use as....trees lol
The image I received from or sponsor is
and the beauty of digi images is that
you can print them as big as you need :D
 I coloured her with promarkers
and tore her (and the butterflies) out.
She looked like she was floating, so I used
mesh ribbon to create a horizontal stripe to ground her.
I added  another stripe of blue mesh
and grey lace to the top edge for balance.
She still looked a bit "floaty" so I coloured a few
paper flowers for her to sit amongst.
When I showed it to my teen...he said the piece reminded him
of a short animation he had recently seen called "Shelter"
and so the legend was created.
She does look a little sad even though surrounded by such beauty...
(Watch the video...it's so sad yet so beautiful)

Enjoy :D XXX

Love to Love

Today I'm sharing a piece of altered art
I made for hubby for Valentines day :D

I found these wooden hearts (3 on a string)
in a clearance pile for 25p!!!!
and knew they would be useful
as I had also just purchased this
I prepped the hearts by sanding and
painting with white gesso,
and then splodging on some acrylic paints.
Once the paint was dry I stamped the
"Happy" shrooms with versamark and heat embossed
with black powder...
 to give a raised image.
Next I added a tiny amount of colour with promarkers
to highlight the shrooms, being careful as the markers
wanted to react with the embossing
I stamped my sentiment onto old book page edge paper
with a Docrafts mini alphabet before gluing in place.
Extra highlights on the spots with white posca pen.
I painted around the edges with gold acrylic...
as well as the shroom heads
For Hubby because he makes me
Happy cos he is such a Fun Guy to Love
:D Enjoy XXX
