Randy Cowboy !

Face no.12 of my 29 Faces for May

RANDY
and yes, he is a "nekkid" Cowboy :D
This was the impromptu challenge set during the chat session at Tee Thompson's livestream class on Wednesday.
And if you think that's weird, the other 2 challenges so far were to make a piece of art incorporating....a random sock, and "what is actually in Paddington's suitcase" :D

enjoy :D XXX

Geeks Scavenger Hunt

The Art Geeks Journal prompt #20 is in the style of a scavenger hunt list...mandatory items to be used on your page;

Your mother's {or father's} favorite color.
A feather {real or drawn, may use image provided}
A womans face {all or partial; drawn, photo, collage}
A lyric from your favorite song
A key {see link below to download key image, you must use this image}
A bird {drawing, photo, collage}

I used my trusty STEve book, made from scrapbook paper, which I knew had a page with a bird already on...
...added a gel transfer of my mothers face, because I was using her fav colour...
YELLOW! I stamped wild roses and coloured them yellow...the sond lyrci written along the branches beneath her image reads" Oh she waits there for me 'neath a rose covered bower"
...and glued on a key with feather attached :D
DOH!! FAILED!! Didn't read prompts properly.....was supposed to use key image provided :S
Posting it anyway lol :D XXX

The many faces of ME!

Being the 28th day of 29 Faces for February, I thought I might show lots of faces.
The Art Geeks prompt for this week was to make a journal page using scraps and collage to show how the world sees you and how you really are. Some people don't see this as "proper" art, but I find it rather enjoyable :D

I chose to use my STEve book, which I made with my most favourite K&Co Blossomwood papers, and collected 6 images that I felt represented versions of me...I arranged them on the pages and smooshed copper metalic acrylic around a bit :D( I like smooshing paint)
I then made labels for each representation...
and finally doodled and added expressions of how I am perceived.
So Face no 28 is "The many faces of ME!"
#1 How parents see me....angelic of course
#2 How friends see me .... some one to tell their troubles to
#3 How Society sees me....sat drinking tea all day(stay at home mum)
#4 How Hubby sees me...alluring, with a hint of danger, sexy(and grateful I am that he does:D)
#5 How I see me....Happy in my own space(wanting to be away with the faeries most of the time)
and finally
#6 How I really am in the world....constantly battling with the outside world(protecting friends and family, trying to keep them all safe and happy)
Hope you enjoyed this bit of fun :D XXX

Smashin' a book with STEve :D

And by STEve I am referring to the delightful Amy McDonald(it is her current fav name :D)
Yesterday she held a free online class making a spiral bound book using her stash of scrapbook papers(visit her blog HERE to see results and link to recorded class)

I started mine by recycling a butchered book cover...
then I sat and stroked my fav doublesided K&Co Blossomwood paper pad....
before cutting to size.....(oooow..that hurt...)
But they do look gorgeous bound together :D
Had to look away as I cut this piece in half....but I was using my trimmer(thanks to which lady it was for the pressure advice) so it was quick.
Now the inside was full of scrummie papers, but the outside!!!!!
So I did some paper weaving with the off cuts....
and made a panel for the front cover, sealed with some sparkly christmas tape I had lying around from last year(xmas 2010)
and just because I couldn't bare to throw away the off cuts from the offcuts, I used them to make page tabs :D
I still have to add pockets and stuff to the pages, but that will be cool as I get to stroke the papers each time *stroke, stroke*, and I will be using my cuttlebug to add some embossed pieces.....just couldn't use it for laughing last night lol :D

And what was hubby doing while I cringed and cried as I cut into those papers.....
He fell asleep....playing with his magna doodle...bless :D
and they complain that we treat them like children hahahaha...... :D XXX
