so Playtime!!!  :D

I don't often get to use rubber stamps
(of which I have many)
I love this time of year, when the nights are
getting darker...and spooky mwahaha...
Last month I made an envelope journal/storage
thingy, and this was a great opportunity to start
making art pieces to add to it.

Each piece will be 10cm x 20cm and fit

nicely into the envelope folder

Why not take this opportunity to walk on the Darkside 

it can be very therapeutic ;)

* using "Hanging Around"*
Desperate to get some "scrapping" done I knew
as soon as I saw this sweet image from Sasayaki
that it would make the perfect page. That's the beauty of
digi images, you can print them any size required.
I started by printing it out on an A4 paper...

and made a colour swatch with my ProMarkers.

I also printed out an A4 sheet of tiny images to use

as backing paper/borders.

Each time I added a colour to the main image

I did the same to the border strip...

then fussy cut the main image.

I have a collection of Papermania Festive Fauna papers,

which includes this Silver Birch bark piece.

I over-stamped using a mixture of tree stamps, before gluing 

mesh ribbon/strip border and main image directly onto the page.

I already knew which photos of my boys I was going

to use...

cropped them and matted them with other papers from 

the same collection...

and added touch of distress ink to soften the edges of the 

page before edging with a dark grey marker.

Finally I used the board alphabet stickers that came with the 

papers to add a title :D

Remember, Digi images are not just for card making :D

I got to work with the gorgeous  Mermaid image

"HELLO"

She is so beautiful and delicate that I wanted to keep

that "floatiness", so decided to make a "single layer" card.

I started by printing 2 copies and "fussy-cutting" one

to use as a mask....

which allowed me to use inkpads to create a subtle background.

It is surprising how well the image stands out against

the soft blues and greens :D

Next up *still using the mask* I added stamped

images in equally soft colours to add depth and 

create a scene.

Now I could begin colouring with my 

ProMarkers...

adding layers of colours as each dried.

Finally a suitable sentiment stamp and some

subtle glittering 

before gluing onto a plain white card base.

I don't often do "delicate" or "subtle" but love

how this card turned out :D

The theme ,as always, is 

# 69 Anything Goes...

and this is my first post as a DT member.

I chose to make a tag shaped wall hanger,

using "Cheeky Greek Chibi"

I started by cutting 2 tags, 1 from watercolour card

and 1 from regular 250gsm card stock...

 I used the watercolour card to create a grungy

background using gesso and letraset alcohol inks...

and more gesso.

 I had seen a video by Tim Holtz where he used

3D embossing folders to create deep texture...

So I got out some embossing folders...

 inked them with TH distress inks...

 and ran the damp tag through my cuttlebug.

 Thrilled with the outcome. I was trying for 

a look that said "ancient ruins" so that this

little cutie would feel at home :D

The image is *of course* coloured with 

ProMarkers.

I finished off with eyelets, silk cord and

words from my paper stash :D

While I'm here....a few "in progress" pics of
a wooden wardrobe shelf I am recycling as
a canvas :D

sanded surface...

 thin coat of white gesso to let wood grain show...

 burnt umber alcohol ink + very watery" Golden" bronze paint...

more gesso...emulsion paint through stencils...
more alcohol ink...

Already added more thin layers, trying to keep all layers visible.
Now what to paint on it :D
