Oil and water can mix!

Bought some Reeves water mixable oil paints recently...I know...laws of physics....life as we know it gone to pot. But they don't smell as strong as regular oils, so I am finding them better to use(no headaches from fumes)
Prepped a small canvas...by gluing on a layer of dictionary pages...
dried thoroughly and painted over a thin layer of white gesso...

selected 4 blues and scraped onto canvas in horizontal stripes...

blending into gaps to get an even coverage...

then added some titanium white for interest.

Now I thought...instead of adding layers of paint, what would happen if I tried stripping colour out with water?

I just roughed out a figure, and continued "stripping" paint back til I got to the result in the top photo.

I am going to leave it to dry out a bit, and try out how "soluble" the paint is then. A product I definitely recommend a play with...if only for the looks you get when you tell people :D
