Ghouls just want to have fun!

While walking the dogs yesterday morning
I came across this poor little creature...
obviously I brought her home and gave her
a good bath(with lots of anti-bac spray)
now she is drying out ...
I shall rebuild her!!!

In the meantime I am getting my creep on
by joining Leigh and her
mwahahahahaha....
cos us Ghouls are missing the dark nights :D

Whenever I need a "fix" of darkness I turn to Poe,
and have been building up a collection of altered
Poestcards...
I had one pre made background left

Using Leigh's Poe freebie, I made a collage
with a selfie....
and then ripped my heart open to reveal Poe :D
Next some messy fun with paint and pencils etc
until my inner ghoul was revealed.
The words are from a page of  "Fossil"
related phrases given to us by the generous
Hope you enjoyed my little excursion into
"creepy"
There will be more mwahahahahaha... :D

Not your thing? Then alter it!

All this "Poeness" got me thinking...
*dangerous thing thinking*
In the past I have collected/bought old sewing kits,
not because I liked the image printed, but to use
the threads....
which left me with bits of pre printed Aida
like this one

*it virtual told me what to stitch....P9-3 could read as  POE*
So I found an image and printed it out to use as a guide...
Stitching over a pre print is quite distracting...
so dear Mr Poe looks a bit "squiffy" at the
moment...
but the fun of "making up" your own pattern is
that you can keep altering it :D
Maybe I'll be done in time for his next anniversary lol

And Finally...

though not Lastly mwahahahaha
My closing tribute to the Genius that
was and is....
Edgar Allan Poe

Well one could hardly finish without a tribute
in words :D
and a few last "past" makes...
 a knitted Raven
 My hand embroidered Art Apron....

and a look through the Art journal I was making
(must get round to finishing) inspired by a
Rock classics calendar ...each page altered to
represent a quote from
E.A Poe XXX

Hope you enjoyed this as much as I did
XXX

Edit: *Couldn't stop myself...have now started a POEtrait x-stitch*

Birthday POE stcards

HOW DID I NEARLY MISS THIS!!!!!

Thank goodness the ladies at
are on the case!

So after a manic morning I now have
4 POEstcards :D

I(not surprisingly) have several collections of
Poe related digi images....
I used My Craft Studio to create 4 collage pieces
The kit includes background papers, so I printed one
of those off and used it to cover my postcard blanks.
 Cut out and glued...
before adding some verdigris and black embossing powder
around the edges.
A quick blast of satin varnish and a few
black peel offs and done :D
The quotes are also from the digi kit...
"I became insane with long intervals of horrible Sanity"
"I felt I breathed an atmosphere of Sorrow"
" We loved with a love that was more than Love"
" And this maiden she lived with no other thought
than to love and be loved by me"

Entering for the following challenges;

I Quoth the Raven!

What joy!!!! I was invited to be a Guest DT member for October over at Quoth the Raven challenge *swoon*
This month being so special to me....when visitations of past spirits are most welcome, and pumpkin pies are just crying out to be eaten...mwahahahaha.....

The challenge is to make something Poe-esque using this wondrous  colour palette...
As a regular "Qouthee" I knew I needed something extra special, and decided to make a tunnel book.
So a quick visit to the local charity store and 70p later :D
I won't bore you with the Gazillion pics I took, but will say I separated the panels, made quick sketches on each panel and cut them out with a knife...
Next stage, paint all pieces with black gesso...
and re-draw outlines with white posca paint pen.
Now to add the colour using the challenge combi...
It's hard to see in these pics but the wallpaper is green/orange/purple striped
Can you make out a figure seated in the chair with his back to the window?
A layer of acetate for the window glass, and we are peering into some one's bed chamber...
on a midnight dreary...with the glow from the fire struggling to cheer the inhabitant.
To decorate the outside I cut out a Raven from "Black Magic" cordination cardstock, and I dry embossed a few lines before sanding back to reveal the purple core.
I used a Tattered Lace large ivy die to cut some foliage...
which I also sanded back to revel the green core*I know rubbish photo*
Now a Raven can be seen "rapping" at the window...

I actually stuck all the layers together to form a diorama rather than leaving it as an open book, as I found this just a little more magical...a moment in time, trapped forever mwahahahaha....
