Use Your Stash!

This month I have been given the opportunity to be a GDT for the
lovely weekly challenge over at
I only got the message on Sunday as I was
mostly offline doll making for a charity event.
It's these kind of times that your "stash" is your best friend :D
The first challenge I was to take part in was

(use feathers and/or birds)

I didn't think I would be able to get a card made in time...
but I went to my stash and came out with a pre printed card base
with chickens...some real feathers...and a wonderful image from
*which I won earlier this year*
Promarkers touched to torn edges make excellent
faux matting when in a hurry...
and a good rummage can turn up the perfect sentiment.
Hope you enjoy this first of 4 GDT postings,
and remember...
the more stash you use up...the more space you'll have for new stuff :D

Gentle Blossom

Don't think I told you guys that my
won me 1st prize over at LOC :D
The prize was to choose FOUR!!! fabulous images from

This meant I got to choose 2 cute and 2 creepy(which was still really difficult)
I picked "Beautiful Blossom", "Away with the Bunnies"(never not an option),

This is the "Beautiful Blossom" image
I like to craft even if I don't have a project in mind.
So a bit of colouring with my promarkers is very relaxing.
And  I now have a card topper ready that can be used at a later date
(or emergency birthday card lol)
Enjoy XXX

Creative Cowgirls Challenge# monochrome

OMG!! What a nightmare!! We really do apologise for the mayhem during the last challenge. I was so looking forward to seeing all your lovely sunshine, but the Linky thing just wouldn't play! Some days it was there, some days it wasn't, then it just gave up all together. Rach had to set up a different linky during the second week of the challenge, and hopefully we won't have this problem again.

Any hoo, this week we got to play with some stunning images from Delicious Doodles. I chose to use shades of blue (I know! I'm getting help, honest, but I love blue :D )

I used Tim Holtz distress stickles for a subtle shimmer on the centres of the lillies, and used promarkers to colour match the peel offs. I also embossed the bottom section of the card with an embossing folder to add interest without making it over fussy.
A helpful thing to do when deciding on what colour to choose, is to start with a background paper(mine is from Paper Artsy Rum n Raisin collection), then colour your images to match. I find it easier to stick to a rigid palette that way.

Delicious Doodles are kindly donating 3 images of choice for the winner of this challenge, and 1 each for the Top3 :D
So fingers crossed, and don't forget we are building up to our Easter Hop, so be sure to give it a mention for a chance to win some extra candy for your stash.
:D XXX

Challenges I am entering are;
Flutter By Wednesdays#145 Photo Inspiration( I used shades of blue from sky+clouds and close up flowers as focal point)
Totally Paper Crafts#57 Shaped Card(cut around lillies, background paper inside card)
