Special request from Santa...

A couple of weeks back my DIL asked if I could make a little doll
 as a Secret Santa ...
This is AliCat :D (WIP)
The recipient is a cat lover who is also into
all things Halloween...and she also likes the
"40's".
I decided to make the doll a literal Cat Lady...
in an elegant couture dress with matching shoes.
Her necklace is a choker with a bell on lol....
and her make-up is in the style of the recipient.
The lady in question also has lush auburn hair...
which she is happy to wear up or wild :D

AliCat now has a shoulder tote bag which will hold her accessorises.
(which will include a pointy hat, wand and scroll of introduction)

Getting together again.....

Hubby and I had decided we needed to get some "Us" time this year.
We have always been spontaneous and have been feeling very restrained of late.
You know how it is...work, family, other worldly crap that "needs" to be done.
So we have made an effort to get out more..together!
We don't do "holidays" something always ruins them and hubby is a workaholic ,
so we have gone back to our roots as it were....jumping in the car with a flask of coffee and a few sandwiches, and having adventures.
In March we visited Conisborough castle....
next up came Gainsborough Old Hall...
Other days we just disappear to Gibraltar Point for breakfast :D
One morning we strolled round the ruins of Monk Bretton Abbey.
Another we drove miles to look at a medieval gatehouse lol
Hubby has always wanted to visit Wales...
so one morning we set off over the Pennines...

and kept driving til we reached Rhyl

While there we noticed a National Trust sign in the crease of the map
which turned into the glorious Bodnant Gardens.
Then there was the magical lane...
that led us to Warram Percy!!!
lots of hard walking on a hot day,
which meant we "needed" to nip over to Bridlington for a paddle in the sea :D
Bank Holiday Weekend...saw a trip down Ancestry Lane
visiting the Villages of Gayton...
 and Blisworth in Northamptonshire.
 And lastly*but not finally*
The magnificent Bolsover Castle
*is it just me or does that look like a flying witch*

So if you have been wondering what I've been up to all summer...
don't...
just get out and have an adventure of your own XXX

oh yes...
and the little sisters now have frilly underskirts :D

"I'm seeing creepy dolls?" lol

That was one of the comments from a Medium we saw recently
 that sort of impressed Hubby a little{major league sceptic}
That and that my house looked like the "Dingle's" place bwahahaha :D
*for non Brit's the Dingles are a Gypsy family from tv's Emmerdale*
So this got me back to working on my little Faerie dolls.

The project I was making them for wasn't due to be aired until June 2018,
but it has been cancelled due to work commitments...
So I gets to show you ASAP :D
Here is a little teaser...

You have already seen Cora and Agatha, but now I am working on
Bryony, Erica, Delphine,Flora and Giselle

I will be writing a story to go with them shortly.
Just loving this little troupe of Gypsy Fae :D

Catching up...

Been playing with different kind of layering stamp...
where you use red yellow and blue to overlap.
Then I just  switched blue for black...
 because I could lol

Next I needed to make a wedding card for Hubby's work (A4 s room for all to sign)

and that got me wanting to make a mixed media piece...
so I took an mdf heart , painted it white...
covered it with yummy romantic paper...
 collected some ephemera pieces...
which I glued on with Matt medium...
before heat embossing with silver powder.
I had a key die that matched the ribbon!!!
Cut 2 and heat embossed with silver again.
Project looking awesome...
bedroom not so much bwahahahaha :D
*and yes I do have to clear it all up before bed time*

Since then I have also been working on 2 mini Faerie dolls
*by mini I mean 12" lol*
Cora and Agatha.

Enjoy :D XXX
