I can be such a dim mare sometimes...I am late posting this, because my printer has stopped talking to my laptop :S....but I don't need my printer to make my card and write the story....I just need it to print off images for my page DOH! *slaps own head hard*
So without further delay, Week 28 of Darcy's Postcard challenge...GERMANY
The unofficial national flower of Germany, the Blue Cornflower
"My dearest Lillian,
Worry not, Miss Francesca explained about the "Ragwort" so I have sent you another gift, which should have arrived by now.
We are visiting a beautiful, bustling little town in Germany called BOCHOLT. A textile company from Lancashire are building a large new mill here, which will provide many jobs for the locals. We have already been invited back for the grand opening towards he end of the year. I admit I was a little concerned when Richard said we were to visit a "Mule Spinning" mill. All sorts of strange images came to mind, but when we arrived the "mules" were machines that "spin" the yarn.
The name BOCHOLT means Beechwood, and we had another gloriously peaceful walk together last evening in Langenberg Park. It is a beautiful woodland park filled with majestic beech trees. It was soooo quiet, as a mist had formed, and we could barely see the path in front of us. SO romantic!
Yours affectionately, Ophelia XXX"
"My darling Ophelia,
Your gift from the Isle of Man has most certainly arrived. She is the sweetest, most mischievous little thing...I am calling her Effie. I have never met such a placid cat. I am convinced she thinks she is a dog! She is drawing quite a bit of attention from the neighbours, who keep asking if she lost her tail in an accident.
It is nice to hear that in these days of unrest, British ingenuity is still bringing good things to our neighbours. It can only be a good thing for this mill to be built there.
As for your romantic walk in the mist....I am sure Bram Stoker would find it romantic, I personally would prefer sitting in my window seat with a hot tea, and my Effie curled up on my lap....just like you used to.
Your adoring friend, Lillian xxx"
Enjoy :D XXX
