Fly by reminder...

Probably my last post til after Christmas...
so a quick card and reminder that
is staying open until January 6th.
We have 3 sponsors for this challenge,
the 3rd being

the image I have used is
but after colouring and fussy cutting  I think
she makes a very pretty Christmas Fairy :D
The sentiment is stamped and heat embossed.
Simply matted onto shiny holographic and
foiled card stock..
subtle colouring with promarkers...
she only needed a little sparkle adding to her wings ...
and a star for her headband :D

I would like to enter her for the following challenges;

It takes all sorts to make merry...

and it couldn't be anything else but

We have 3 sponsors for this challenge

As this challenge will last into the New Year, I decided to make
a project using images from all 3 sponsors and post them
throughout December.
First up is this lovely image from Ppinky Dolls Art.
It reminded me of those wooden panels we used to get back in the 70/80's
with big eyed children, so it just had to go on a mini canvas.

Recycling an old canvas means you start with lots of yummy texture...
I coloured with my Promarkers to get that retro 70's feel.
A liberal coat of white gesso for the canvas before
gluing the image to the surface...
then added cerulean blue and white acrylic
to show up the texture again and blend in the image.
"Tea Varnish" over the entire piece gives it an aged grungy look...
and not forgetting the sides for added interest.
just love how the varnish pools in the textured
background :D

Enjoy :D XXX

Not so shabby..

Today's challenge from CWWC Challenge
There was a bit of a hiccup with the sponsor for this challenge
so I decided to revisit one of my fav images from previous challenges.
I chose to re-use  "No My Dolly"

This style of creation gave me another opportunity to
create my own background card :D
Distress inks and overstamping...
and a bit of water spritzing...
makes for a wonderfully shabby finish.
*close up*

I matted this straight onto a white base card.
Next I "scruffed up" some scraps of paper with matching ink
to use for layering...
before colouring my image.
Added ephemera from an old
Hot off the Press paper pad.
*Ribbon and pearls are a must to add chic to my shabby*

Enjoy :D XXX

Lots of luscious layers....

For the new challenge at
we were given the sweetest images fro
I couldn't resist

Wit the challenge prompt "Lots of Layers"
I had no hesitation in decoupaging this little lady...
and chose some soft spring colours for her outfit
and wings.
I used my Tattered Lace Torn edge dies to mirror
the frilly layers of her skirt...
and I thought this floral printed vellum would create
a "lighter" layering" effect over layers of
Graphic 45 Artisan papers...
*omg she makes me want to be out n the garden right now*
To add even more layers I used Joanna Sheen's Lavender Signature die.
I cut them from green paper and used white paint pen and pale blue stickles
to emphasise the flower heads.
A few pale blue paper roses and more stickles sparkle'
and she just makes such a Happy Birthday card for my youngest niece :D
