Second Birthdays..

Well it's week 2 already of

Crafting When We Can's "Happy Birthday" challenge

I decided to use both images given us by

Karleigh Sue Designs

so here is my second card using "It's my Birthday"

I again chose a selection of papers from my scrap box

mostly pinks , but with other colours too.

 Selected a fancy edged/square card and 

tried out a few pieces. Again I didn't like the blank white background...

 so I broke it up using tiny stamps and colours from the patterned paper .

 I think it all sits much happier now :D

 Then it was simply a case of colouring this little lady

in matching colours...

 This time I pulled the soft blues from the paper, 

and added a sentiment sticker in the same green as the pattern too.

The sticker is actually from a Christmas set,

 but I think it works just fine for a birthday too.

The theme for 

Challenge #127  is "Happy Birthday" 

and our Sponsor is 

Karleigh Sue Digi's

I recently bought some ready cut cards from Kanban, and chose this 

unusual shaped one...that just happens to work  with a Spellbinders die set I have.

 The 2 images I received from our sponsor are

  "Poodle Skirt" and "It's my Birthday"

 I knew I was going to use Poodle Skirt ...

and Pink...

So I covered the white card blank with patterned paper, before inking around the edges to highlight the unusual shape.

more matting and layering with various pinks...

*I think this card looks like a dressing table*

 I coloured the image to match the pinks in the papers, cut her out

 and added some diamond sparkles(glitter glue)

 Anyone who knows me will be surprised at the amount of PINK

in this card...but Poodle Skirts + Milkshakes = Pink Ladies to me :D

I used to make cards for DT groups when I first entered Blogland and didn't realise how much I missed it til now.
