Pleasant Dreams?

Been playing with Rick St Dennis images again
and thought this fabulous lady would make an awesome
"best wishes" type card :D
 "Mama Mumba Voodoo Woman"
I coloured her with my Promarkers
before cutting her out.
I had made the base card already,
layering a vintage paper from Debbi Moore
with several die cut lacy flourishes from
Once all the layers were set I added
pearl drops to her necklaces and purse
trimmings.
and a die cut sentiment*also Tattered Lace*
The acetate butterflies just needed to flutter in :D

Enjoy XXX

Hot Stuff!

I love when I get chance to play just for myself,
and usually have several things on the go at the same time.
This week I got chance to work with one of
fabulous new images
which is a collection of wonderful ladies
including the sassy
"Chanteuse 2 Jazz Baby"
I knew straight away I was going to use
shades of coffee and chocolate for ths
"hot momma"
with warm orange as the contrast colour.
The swirls on her dress cried out for sparkle!!!
This energetic patterned paper is definitely dark brown
but for some reason it showed up purple lol
and the added heat embossed feature is
gold...
*Slightly better colour in this photo*
I wanted a floral feature so got out my white paper flowers,
versamark and gold embossing powder...
I coloured one flower with "cocoa" promarker
and heat embossed the other....
fastened both together with a gold brad, which I
then coated with gold pearldrops.
Can't you just hear those sultry tones
from "Chanteuse" Jazz Baby :D

For the Man who has everything....

I was invited to Guest DT over at
Sponsored by the awesome

I adore all things Steampunk and was instantly drawn to
*cos I knew exactly what I was going to use it on....*
For the man who has everything....or as we call it
"Man Flu!"

To make the bag I chose a fat quarter from my fabric stash
and used a cheap canvas bag ( £1 from Hobbycraft)
as the liner. This meant I didn't have to make handles :D
I then selected a range of colours from my Tonic  "Nuvo Markers"
collection. Hadn't used them before and was pleased with the quality
of the colours.
It also included 3 metallic markers.
I don't normally watermark my pictures, but Rick's digis are so
detailed and colour so beautifully I didn't want to risk them
being copied.
*before and after colouring*
I printed the original image out onto A4 card,
fussy cut after colouring and glued onto a piece of
scripted background paper form
I took this image into my graphics programme and made a
collage using Steampunk Emporium Kit from Daisytrail....
which I printed out onto canvas and paper to use as a label
and for card toppers.
The label  glued and over-stitched in red cotton....
waiting to be filled with goodies to make that poorly
little man feel loved :D

For the matching card I used;
a print out of the same Dr Noir image
 I'd coloured and mounted,
Anna Griffin card stock,
Red chequered washi tape,
Sentiment from Debbi Moore paper kit.
