BaaaaaaaaaD Faerie!!!

Faerie Fatale

"She waits there for me neath a rose covered bower
Her eyes are like violets just after a shower..."

The words of an old song ran through my mind,
And I knew they were meant for a soul of her kind.

Her cheeks pink and rosy, like blossoms in bud
With deeper red hints of congealing fresh blood.

The whites of her eyes were more yellow in hue,
And deep purple bruises were now showing through.

"Just give me a moment..." she cooed with such grace
"It won't take me long to fix my new face."

You know how we crafty types like to save(hoard) stuff....
Well I've had this pink bit of fru-fru that my eldest's girlfriend was throwing out for years....

Prompted by a group of like-minded lunatics, I decided to alter it a bit...
Promarkers are a wonderful product...not just for colouring on paper lol...
I snapped off a few of the hangers, leaving the 2 arms and 2 for wing placement...
(forgot to say, she is going to be a Bad Faerie)
Totally got carried away and forgot to take stage pics, but layers of gesso and some crumpled tissue being glued on to a polystyrene egg aren't necessarily as exciting for you as they are for me :D
*look at those yummy skin folds...*
Scraps of black lace and a bit of bling...
and my creepy Bad Faerie is complete!
Now remember...
don't get lured in by a Faeries pretty face,
the one she is wearing might not be hers....
mwahahahaha.....

Enjoy :D XXX

A "Quothing" Raven

This months "Quoth the Raven" challenge was so worth the wait!
Design something with a Raven in it...
I started by making a few sketches to get a feel for this majestic bird...
Then an idea started to hatch...
and my Raven started to grow...
 Then he started to speak...
 and flap his wings restlessly.
Once his beady eyes opened he was off...
searching for what who could tell?
 Or Who?...
 "AAaaahhhhh! There you are!!!"
"Now I'll be with you...... Evermore!"

Had great fun making this boisterous character...and what you can't see is the blue shimmer his feathers have :D
Now off to "create" for Monster Madness at the end of this month :D

Hortense has a new hat!

*Inspired by Rhissanna*
....but that is the least of the Queens worries.
Ever since Harriet went away, Hortense has changed....
She has taken to carrying a very strange looking doll she refers to as her "Little Poppet"
(Inspired by Ash-Lynn)
If asked, Hortense claims it is a doll that belonged to Harriet when she was a Kit, and that it makes her feel closer to her absent daughter...
She has opened the back seam to add fragrant Rosemary to facilitate happy memories...
and has included two little trinkets.
The heart shaped button signifying the love shared between mother and daughter, while the Rose charm reminds her of her daughters "rosey" cheeks....all fastened in with 2 pins(one red and one white).
Now there are those amongst you who may think this doll serves a more sinister purpose...
and you may be right.
Hortense is very sad about her daughter being so far away (even though she is in regular contact, and knows she is enjoying her new life). Horatio is off on his last voyage collecting roses for the Queen....she does so love her roses does the Queen of Hearts....
She talks about them constantly to Hortense while having fittings for her latest gown....which has the most darling gold heart-shaped buttons....and Hortense has to be very careful NOT to stick Her Majesty with the oh so sharp red and white pins as she twitches and prattles on.
Some say Hortense has a new hobby...no longer does she throw parties for all to laugh and dance while Horatio is away. Rather she organises quieter, more select gatherings...late at night...with soft, rhythmic music and steaming goblets of fragrant wine.

The Queen has decided to confront Hortense about her secretive behaviour, but the ever ready Hortense distracts her with a new hat to match her gown...
"..and look! You can still wear your crown too!"
She follows up quickly by complimenting Her Majesty on the beautiful pendant she is wearing,
before excusing herself and rushing away.
Not to be put off, the Queen grabs a candle and follows Hortense into the darkening night...
and catches up with her in the deepest, darkest part of the garden...
"Just WHAT, may One ask, do you think you are playing at Hortense?"
Hortense invites the Queen to take a seat, and a very interesting conversation ensues...
but that is for you to hear another day.
...
Brought to you as part of " A Fanciful Twist's"

Why not pop by and see what everyone else is up to?
Enjoy :D XXX

**EDIT**
Ok...felt guilty about not having a giveaway(need to hold on to Her Maj for future posts), so I have made a quick "poppet" and will pick someone from the comments on Samhain eve. It's pouch contains rose petals and rosemary from my garden/a small shell from an ancient beach  and a pinch of sage from a very witchy place(by sage I meant lavender, will add sage now)...so play nice children :D XXX

Flamingo the Flamenco Faerie

as promised :D

Donna recently showed us a Voodoo Doll she had made from bits and pieces in her stash, and seeing as I had acquired so much extra stash this week(some from Donna, some from June at Dezinaworld), I thought I'd make a Desk Faerie :D

I selected beads and threaded them to make arms and legs...
then made the main body from a wooden butterfly(the original inspiration for the colour scheme), a bead,a large paper flower. The skirt is just a piece of lace and a piece of hessian gathered together with a running stitch.
I attached them together by wrapping thread around the butterfly before threading through bead/flower and skirt, then used the same thread to attach her legs.
Again I used thread to attach her arms, securing at the shoulders with clear drying glue.
Her head is a small polystyrene ball, painted with acrylic craft paint...
and decorated with tiny sequins and seed beads....soooo sparkly :D
I attached her head with fine wire, which I passed down through her head, through the ring on the butterfly bead, and back up through her head, so I could use the wire to attach her head dress (which seconds as a hanger!!)

I don't normally do pink and girly....but I love her... I think she looks like a Flamenco dancer..

she is my inspiration to be more colourful this year :D
Enjoy :D XXX
