so Playtime!!!  :D

I don't often get to use rubber stamps
(of which I have many)
I love this time of year, when the nights are
getting darker...and spooky mwahaha...
Last month I made an envelope journal/storage
thingy, and this was a great opportunity to start
making art pieces to add to it.

Each piece will be 10cm x 20cm and fit

nicely into the envelope folder

To begin I gathered my supplies...

 Graphic 45  Enchanted Forest stamp set that has the gorgeous 

musically inspired images, 

Embossalicious music script embossing folder,

Graphic 45 Artisan paper pad

and TH distress inks.

I got so carried away with this card I forgot to do photos lol.

The image I used is "HOPE" from The Paper Shelter

and the idea of making a frame to put her in was inspired by 

a card I saw a few weeks ago,

PaperPlotterLottas 

where the lady had used a small ornate photo frame to emphasise

her image.

My frame is card covered with copper embossing powder and glitter.

 I used glossy accents to highlight certain words...

Love this time of year...

My first "official" Halloween card "squeee....!"

 TTCRD have a wonderful sponsor this week

who has a huge number of freebies on her blog!!!

T'would be rude not to use one for their challenge so I 

collected a few seasonal background papers....

 I loved the "Harvest" paper and thought it would work as a background

to emboss onto in black.

 I used my new Halloween stamps from Tattered Lace 

and an old favourite from Graphics 45

 The large pumpkin just looked like the perfect harvest moon,

so I masked it and darkened the area around it with ink.

 To add a little more dimension I stamped and embossed

3 pumpkins from the same Halloween set, coloured

with promarkers and fussy cut.

I made the sentiment topper, again colouring a piece of 

white scrap card with co-coordinating markers

and another Graphics 45 stamp.

Inspiring your Mojo...

Sometimes our mojo just gets bored...

this is when "challenge" sites can be very useful.

For this card I have taken inspiration from 3 challenges;

Addicted to Stamps has a photo inspiration challenge

always a good place to start as it can give you ideas for colour combis 

and layouts.

 I took the different sized circles and the purple, yellow and neutrals, 

and the unusual lines of the bed and blanket combi reminded me of a shaped stepper card in my blanks stash.

 I stamped flowers rather than just circles on my base card and coloured with

 promarkers in Lilac/ivory/pastel yellow/leaf green.

 Next from Shopping Our Stash "Mary Had a Little Lamb"

use a farm animal

 I actually have a stamp set from Graphics 45 that has Mary and her lamb

(which I had forgotten about)

 This is the card matted and layered(still think it looks like the bed and blanket shape lol)

Passion for Promarkers are asking for Butterflies

which gave me my embellishment :D

 A little sparkle and I'm pretty happy with this little card

as is my mojo :D

Feeling Snarky?

Ok...so after a while I need to let loose my dark humour 

and I recently came across a site called 

"Sisterhood of Snarky stampers"

and this week they have a "caffeine" related challenge

I've had this list of collective nouns printed out for years...

and thought it would work wonderfully for this sarcastic project.

I roughed up and inked the edges before gluing to a piece of black card.

I stamped and heat embossed "Beware" and

"Eat Drink & be scary"(Graphics 45 stamps)

For my card base I used the same stamp set to make a spidery border

and inked it up with bundled sage from TH

before adding the topper.

Finally I added a very necessary "collective" noun to the list.

"An UNACCEPTABLE of caffeine-free beverages"

..and a spider...every web needs a spider :D
