Creepy Kid lol...

Morning everyone :D
It's coming up to one of  my favourite times of year
Samhain/Halloween mwahahaha....
so there was no doubt what my theme would be
for

Every year my granddaughters costumes are
getting more outrageous, and last years
was especially freaky lol

I mean, who even thinks of dressing their little
2 year old Princess as Beetlejuice???
But she totally hammed it up hahahaha...
That's my  girl :D
So when I saw the "All Hallows Eve" papers
from Crafter's Companion
from Sam Poole at Creative Expressions
I knew exactly what I was going to make for this
challenge :D mwahahahaha....

Thrifty shopping for Crafty folk

Well hello to Autumn, hardly feels like Summer

visited at all lol, but then this is England so nothing

 unusual about that.

Today I am sharing my DT project for

CRAFTING FROM THE HEART

Challenge 05

I am trying to be a bit "thriftier" with my crafting and
shopping for bargains to share. This Tin that the journal is
made to fit into was £1 from Poundland, and contained
coloured pencils /eraser/sharpener/ruler and Alphabet stencil.

My friends June and Shasteya gave me these beautiful
digi papers for free!!!
I started by printing 2 of the patterned papers onto
each side of some 120gsm card stock, and making
a basic concertina ...
I then took some £1 post it notes and added them
randomly to the "pages" as journalling panels...
before going wild with more of the images from
the same free paper collection, adding a few stickers
I already had in my stash...
On the reverse I just used the letter stencil that came
in the Tin to add a few Autumnal phrases...
To finish I decorated the tin lid with a couple more
pieces from the collection.

All in all I am very happy with this little
 "Tinned Journal"
And I highly recommend trawling the stationary
and kiddy craft sections at Poundland
 (or your countries equivalent)
when looking for journalling items.
And if you have a printer, check out FB and other
intrnet places for free paper downloads.

Tangly Treat

Can't believe we're already up to the fourth monthly
challenge at
(where it's always anything goes except cards)
and I treated myself to 2 more stencil kits from
I am a terrible fidget, so doodling is a natural
state of being for me lol...

I bought a cheap naked clipboard and started by creating
a cute little faery gnome using

Then I made her a friend and set them next to
 a pretty doorway using the

Started to colour with appropriate markers,
and added a window and masonry...

More doodling to add pebbled wall and shrooms

and  a torn edge showing sunflowers.

Finally I filled all the "bricks" with individual tangles
from the "TANGLY TRAILS" collection

Now I have a lot of tangles at hand to play with
while I'm sat watching tv :D

Got Junk? Then Journal...

Junk Journaling is a thing, and can be a massive undertaking,
but sometimes we just need a little project to fulfill our crafting "NEED"

For my CRAFTING FROM THE HEART DT project this month
I chose to play with a single sheet of double-sided scrapbook paper
and created this "mini" journal
First I took the 12x12 sheet of playing cards and
cut it into 3 horizontal strips

leaving tabs on the ends to connect them with,
before folding in a concertina fashion.

Next I "closed up" and glued the folds together to
make "pages", adding an outer strip of paper to
form a re-enforcing spine.

Now I had a mini book waiting for the addition
of scraps and more.
I chose some free papers from

and added randomly...

Some pages needed more than others.

After this I added some lovely lacey rub-ons from

The beauty of rub-ons and junk journaling is that there is no
worry about imperfections

I hope my post might take away some of the fear often
felt when attempting a journaling project,
and I would love to see your more unusual crafty projects
 over at

Please, Take a Seat...

And join us for our next Challenge at
(where it's always Anything Goes, but not cards)

first off, sorry for the blurry photos, don't know why they
loaded so poor quality...

I've been tidying my craft shed, and felt the chair was just a bit meh!

so following on with my experimenting, I decided to attack it with
Acrylic paint pens :D

Boring meh! chair

masking tape and posca acrylic paint pens

Black and white felt good to break up the outline

Masking tape removed

I have a new collection of Fancy Envelope templates

and this cool Tangly Tails stencil set (doodle decision maker)

and this is what happened :D

Added a touch of colour with pastel Sharpies...

and a few random doodles to the back rest and voila!
a not so Meh! chair :D
I think this particular project may never be truly finished
as I am constantly tempted to add more doodling lol

Hope you enjoyed the process.
And there is still one week left over at our sister challenge
if you have a card you would like to share.

And so it begins...

Welcome everyone to the renewed crafty challenge from

Crafting from the Heart

Where it's always "Anything Goes" (except cards)

It's been  quite a while since I've done any real arts n crafts

so when Fiona asked if anyone was interested in joining her

in restarting her challenges I jumped at the chance.

At Crafting from the heart we want to help showcase all those

yummy craft projects you might be hiding away, so thinking

outside the box is always welcome....hence my crazy project.

Inspired by madness and powered by " I just got to get into my

craft shed"

Well "thinking outside the box" is literally what I did.

I bought a box for my tarot card collection ages ago, but it seemed

a bit sacrilegious that it was so dull and boring so....

Inspired by Sanntangle

 Fantasy Florals design book

and utilising my stash of Promarkers

I was pretty happy with the
lid of my box  :D

Then I HAD to do the rest lol

And if your passion is cardmaking, why not drop by our sister site

Enjoy :D
