When Martha at Ayala Arts announced there would be another 29 Faces challenge for September, I wasn't sure if I would be up to taking part. I really love the "pressure" of arting on daily basis, but September is the start of the new school year, and my youngest struggles for the first few weeks.
How could I join in, and not add to my already stressful month.....work small! ATC's and Playing Cards were the first things to come to mind, but then I remembered these...
...pre cut jigsaw panels. There are 16 pieces in each panel so 2 will give me enough with a couple to spare :D
I seperated the pieces and jumbled them up...
put them all into a pot...
and will randomly pick out one piece each day, and draw a face on it. I am colouring them with promarkers.
When they are all finished, I will put them all back together to create a very randon and individual work of art :D
This is the first piece. The pictures will be a bit blurry because they are a bit tiny, but I am already excited to see what the finished panels will look like :D
Because they are so small and straight forward to make, I will post a few at a time.
Enjoy :D XXX
That is so freaking fantastic! Brilliant idea, Gina! I now wish I had some plain white jigsaw panels. :)
ReplyDeleteI saw this and had a heart attack. I just sketched a face on a blank jig saw puzzle today. And then I saw what you were doing with them. STUNNING. And so low pressure. Perfect. I was thinking about 29 faces in September, but I will wait for the next round.
