We all hoard "junk" or as we call it
"treasure" lol
So what better way to use it up than by making a
"Treasure box"
*inspired by another Ina Solsbery vid*
I kept this old box because my youngest had "decorated" it...
a layer of crumpled tissue for texture...
White gesso....
stuff I would never have put together in a million years
on any other project lol...
more gesso and paint....
I nearly left it at this point as it looked quite creepy,
but I was determined to try the faux tarnished metal look
So after many drippings and dryings...
adding paints and wiping aways...
I now have a box to treasure :D
See I knew they would all come in useful one day...
Enjoy :D XXX

ReplyDeleteWow, Gina, that is gorgeous, what a wonderful transformation and love that you 'redecorated' the box your youngest had so thoughtfully decorated for you :O) Amazing textures and colours, thank you so much for joining us at A Vintage Journey for our Think Inside or Outside The Box challenge, Deb xo
ReplyDeleteJunk? Where? This is pure treasure all around. You can tell by its shine, and by how all of us are lusting after it. And yes, by "all of us" I mean "me". :-D
ReplyDeleteWow Gina! What a treasure! This is so beautiful!!! Thanks for sharing the process! Big Hugs!
ReplyDeleteYou've got me laughing for sure! Soooo much otherwise un-usable junk in our stashes. Love the Grey stage of the process (just add a dolly arm of leg to finish the "creep", and of course the finished painted version is superb. Thanks so much for sharing at Dream In Darkness
ReplyDeleteNow you've got my mind wandering again lol...I have a mould....mwahahaha
DeleteOver here, a mold is the shape you have to make more of the shape. Mould is that, and also the fungal stuff. So when you say you have a mould, I'm thinking athletes foot, candida or some other personal nasty. Get well soon mwahahaha!
DeleteWow - you really made a work of art out of your plain box Gina - and what a great place to keep all your 'treasures'!! I admire your ability to put all these strange things on your cover and then make them look like they all go together and actually look beautiful!! I always say I'm going to try this and never sit down to do it!! Thanks so much for sharing with us at A Vintage Journey! Julia xx
