For this weeks "A Piece a Week", I decided to try out a "runny paint" technique that was pointed out to me by my friend Carmen Wing.
Carmen shared a video tutorial by Raeart, which makes the technique look so much fun I just had to try it :D
Acrylic on 8x10 stretch canvas
I didn't want to work on a blank canvas, so I covered mine with a piece of home made pattern paper before starting...
I struggled a bit getting the paint runny enough to drip...
but I really enjoyed the speed painting it involves...
and just love the "ethereal" feel to the finished piece(top pic).
Why not watch the vid and give it a try?
Enjoy :D XXX
A great title, the face is very impressiv.
ReplyDeleteLove it! watching the video next.
ReplyDeleteWow, Gina, she really is quite something. Also watching the video - interesting you did this on paper - I'm sure that made a difference to the 'running' of the paint. You caught a look of deep sadness of the soul. xoDonna
ReplyDeleteFirst of all, what in the name of Hekate's tree-headed dog were you thinking when you wrote this title? I ran here, machete in hand, ready to butcher the person who was making you cry *sigh* Thank goodness you were just describing a painting because in all honesty, I don't have a machete. And just imagine what beating someone bloody would do to my typing hands *breathe*
ReplyDeleteOkay, to the painting--what a beauty. Love those dark greens and the matching dark mood. You always impress me, my Gina!
P.S. I put your package in the mail. The post office fellow said it will take about a week ;-D
Wow! A-maze-ing!!! Gina you rock ;)
