This weeks prompt from A Dash of Sunny is
It reminded me of a piece I wrote for NaPoWriMo last April
about a painting by Dante Gabriel Rossetti
Beloved (aka The Bride of Solomon)
BELOVED.
A jewel surrounded by precious gems
of multi-coloured hues.
That shine and sparkle in the sun.
Blossom that grows amidst the flowers
in the morning dew.
Cloaked in the luscious greens of your garden.
With eyes blinded by your singular beauty
I gaze upon you.
And my heart weeps with joy at your existence.
I am a shameful writer... words fill my head at the slightest prompting, but I rarely ever revisit a piece once it is written down. An opportunity that forces such a visit is always a revelation to me.
Hope you enjoy revisiting her as much as I did :D XXX
Whistles!!! Gina, this is such a stunning write :D especially love this line "With eyes blinded by your singular beauty I gaze upon you." Beautifully penned. Thank you so much for participating at Prompt Nights and for your constant love and support.

ReplyDeleteWow!!! Truly beautiful Gina!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI love going back to earlier work, to be able to see the past anew, through the eyes of new experiences. The colors are brighter, sharper... and sometimes completely different.
ReplyDeleteLush and quite romantic!
