Queen of Flowers

Today's card is my

I was so looking forward to working with this image
Daffodils are my birth flower and my "Bestie"'s
fav is tiger lilies  :D

The theme this fortnight is flowers...
while tidying I had unearthed these fabulous cards
that I must have had for over 10 years!!!!
*They has black glitter on*
The image was screaming out to be decoupaged...
I printed her out 4 times...
then narrowed my card choices down to 2 lol
The yellows won.
I made a colour swatch with my promarkers before starting...
and tested the colours out on what would be the base layer
*most of this would be covered by subsequent layering*
The white card was too harsh against the warm yellows
so I softened it with a matching marker.
See how the second layer covers most of the base.
I cut out my layers before colouring,
as my hands sometimes shake these days
and it is less of a waste of time if I make a mistake
and need to print out another layer.
Once I'd coloured the second layer I added glossy accents
to her jewels.
This is how the separate pieces looked.
I decided 3 layers were enough.
She looked a little chilly,
so I used the fourth layer to cut a garland
to drape around her shoulders :D
A hint of glitter on some of the flowers
and she is done.
Enjoy XXX
