Just for the fun of it, I felt like making a textures piece. So I smothered an old canvas with white gesso and scraped it with a plastic fork. It takes ages to dry, but I luuurve the effect you get, all sort of wood grainy :D

Then I chose a colour combi and used a very wet brush to slop it on...

as soon as it dried the wood nymph showed herself :D

I dripped alcohol inks, and highlighted the figure...

before coating with clear gesso.

Next I used brown and white Stabilo pencil to draw her out...

I thought the ink splats looked like lichen, so I outlined each one with black Eyeball fine liner, and added 3 rub on moths(cos moths like sitting on tree bark)

The frame is reclaimed from an old tv cabinet I trashed. The panel effects on the doors and draws turned out to be plastic, and just popped off to make fabulous ornate frames :D

The moths have lots of details on them ,but the glare from the sun made them look white :S
I was going to save this for
Paint Party Friday, but I already have something new for that :D XXX

Gina this is stunning. I love seeing it happen in your step by step photos! love it.
