Hidden Emotions

Face no. 8 for my 29 Faces in May
EMILY

I made this piece for this weeks The Butterfly Effect Challenge Theme "Hidden Things/Secrets"
I have chosen to go with secret love and hidden emotion, and started by writing stuff like "vengeful thoughts" and "hidden secrets" all over my journal page.
Next I added stickers and doodles and bits of card waste for texture...
then smooshed paint in warm pinks and earthy orange all over to "hide" the forbidden love messages.
Now I highlighted the image that showed itself...
Layers of watercolour, pencil and acrylic...
defining the face that appeared(I am calling her Emily)
Her sadness barely visible to the wider world...
she mourns a dead lover, who she could not acknowledge in life.

  12. I say this a lot, but I don't care I'm saying it again: I LOVE your process. You have such to show how things come into being. How they go from idea to actual beauty.

She is so lovely. I want to learn her thoughts, know what the flowers smell like to her...

  15. What an interesting approach to a piece of art. there's a whole bunch of feeling in it, not only talent (which you've got a whole bunch as well) I love how one can still see the hidden message if you know where to look for, but a regular observer won't notice them :D
