Never thought I'd do it...but I finally took the plunge and bought a sewing machine!!!
I am always so overwhelmed by the gadgetiness of these creatures, so I just kept it simple. A few fancy stitches, back and forth lever and a foot pedal lol
And I have to say I'm loving it :D (It has threading instructions drawn on the machine lol)
I had started this cushion cover years ago, but my son "grew out of it" before I got chance to finish it...so perfect project to play with my new machine.
I have only done straight lines so far, but it is so much quicker than hand stitching(the quilting is still hand sewn....straight lines is boring)
I will be sending this to a far of friend who needs a hug right now. She hugs Donkeys at every opportunity, and I thought she would be able to hug these two when she is unable to get near the real thing :D
Enjoy...now go play :D XXX
Scattering Joy is your special skill ! xoDebi
ReplyDeleteOh Gina that's fabulous!
ReplyDeleteOh Gina. You are a sweetie. Oma Linda
ReplyDeleteyou're a far braver person than me. seems every time i go near a sewing machine, the bobbins panic and cause me trouble. hence... no more sewing! they scare the snot out of me... even the little craft one. i'll do it all by hand.
ReplyDeletethis is fabulous and i love the image and the colors. you are a wizard of many talents.
hugs :)
That is such a cool picture, when I was a kid my parents had two donkeys, one grey one brown. I miss them.
ReplyDeleteGood for you. I do a ton of hand sewing myself. A sewing machine is a great investment.
ReplyDeleteAs soon as I saw the donkeys I thought of our Oma Linda. You gifted, bighearted, witchy woman you!
ReplyDeleteOne day, I will learn how to use a sewing machine. Maybe...
LOVe the cushion cover! You will have so much fun you won't know which end is up. What's her name? The sewing machine that is. xoDonna
ReplyDeleteOma Linda is going to love this! You have such a beautiful soul Gina! Never stop being you! Big Hugs xoxoxoxo
ReplyDeleteI forgot to say, congrats on the new sewing machine ;o)
ReplyDeleteLoving the donkey quilt. Have fun with your new machine, I wouldn't want to be without mine. I didn't sew for ages as my hands made hand sewing impossible but I'd rediscovered a love of it since I got back into machine sewing.
