Day 3 of NaPoWriMo 2015
Craft a poem about spoiling your Self or the Self of another. Let Decadence run wild.
Why Gild a Lily?
Decadence is such an ugly word.
It fills our heads with images of Gluttony and Greed.
It smells of sour wine and spoiled food,
clothes crammed into wardrobes never to be worn again.
But oh the thrill when taken in small doses.
A sip of Honey Mead, liquid gold.
The feel of soft, silky grass against the soles of my feet on a warm, still day.
The mouth watering indulgence of Raspberries straight from the bush.
Decadence doesn't have to cost the Earth...it comes from it.
:D Enjoy XXX
Another wonderful one! I am really enjoying these poems of yours. Xx

ReplyDeleteI love your comment that "Decadence doesn't have to cost the Earth" that echos my owe feelings. Sometimes the greatest indulgences are not the big material things but those little things we savour and upon which memories are built.
ReplyDeleteI love your words!! Hugs ;o)
