Whatever ails you...

Day 27 of NaPoWriMo with Magaly

"Metaphorically" sit in front of the thing/person that "ails you", and let your poem tell it/them exactly what's on your mind.

( Soul Food class with Mitsi B 2014)

Best the Devil you know!

I don't like you!
You are spoiling my fun and interfering with my life!
Just when I think I have you beaten, I turn around and there you are.... just waiting for the perfect moment to stop me in my tracks.
I get all excited about getting fit and healthy.
I make the effort.
Just a few days in and "BAM!"
You just can't help yourself can you, you spiteful little pain.
But I will pick myself up,
smother you and try again.
You insignificant little symptom.
Two surgical procedures you've caused me, and still you persist.
But you will NOT best me!

  1. There is hope indeed when we choose to keep going despite our ills.

  2. Oh I hate those moments when everything seems to be going right and then your body goes rogue and you go from super active to the activity level of a slug. I love the determination you are showing in not letting it take everything away.

  6. Fight, fight, fight! Nice words. I know how just how you feel. Just when I think I've got everything sorted out, something else starts making me sick. :-\

  7. You tell that bastard! Then I will read it to my bastard, too.

I love the first line: clear and to to point. There is no reason to be coy or mysterious when speaking to our inner bits...

You already know I love this painting. And having this poem behind it makes me love it even more. ♥
