Challenge #46 at Quoth the Raven is "POEtry"...make something inspired by a specific Poe Poem.
I have chosen ...
Sonnet - To Science
SCIENCE! true daughter of Old Time thou art!
Who alterest all things with thy peering eyes.
Why preyest thou upon the poor poet's heart,
Vulture, whose wings are dull realities?
How should we love thee? or how deem thee wise,
Who wouldst not leave him his wandering
To seek for treasure in the jewelled skies
Albeit he soared with an undaunted wing?
Hast thou not dragged Diana from her car?
And driven the Hamadryad from the wood
To seek a shelter in some happier star?
Hast thou not torn the Naiad from her flood,
The Elfin from the green grass, and from me
The summer dream beneath the tamarind tree?
So how do you make a tamarind tree....
pipe cleaners and tape...
plaster bandages....
and paint :D
Then punch out some leaves (I know the leaves are wrong but I couldn't find my other punch)and cut out a few Tamarind stylie pods.
Next the Vulture which is Science...
pipe cleaners, foil and tape...
more bandages paint and a few feathers :D
And Poe can once more dream of summer beneath the Tamarind tree.
Also entering this piece for Forever Dark#2 and Dream in Darkness#3 both Anything Goes (as long as it is dark) and Left of Center challenge #86 Tic tac Toe (unless something LOC) and I'm guessing a Vulture is pretty unusual lol
And now I think I need to make a smaller Poe lol
Enjoy :D XXX
You are a Rock Star! I love seeing your imagination in every demention !

Wow, you've created a really wonderful little scene! Such an apt Mr. Poe, and a great Tarmarind tree with those perfect pods but it's the vulture that steals the show! Then again, I guess he's supposed to, ha! Love it!
ReplyDeleteI missed you at the Tea Party but I can totally relate to having too many people around! I keep getting caught reading blogs when I'm supposed to be working and I'm afraid I've turned into a terrible lurker, sorry about that! Trying to mend my ways while not on the job. So looking forward to the upcoming nuptials!
Cheers, Sarah
