Party Off Dude!!!

The new challenge at
is sponsored by
and the theme is
Now don't panic!. I know I tend to go the full monty
on mixed media projects, but you can do something as simple
as using texture paste, glossy accents or fabric pieces on your cards :D

Having done plenty of mixed media in the past, I have a stash of
"mediums" at my disposal.
I started by sanding back this seasonal mdf board...
added a layer of old book pages
and then covered with white gesso.
Applying with an old credit card helps add texture.
Once dry I spritzed with acrylic paint
in bright party balloon colours...
before using acrylic paint/ indian ink markers
to add definition.
I glued on an uncoloured version of the image I was using
Then coloured and paper pieced another layer.
This meant none of the painty layer would bleed through.
Finally I added glossy accents to her glasses and the smaller balloons,
and the word "HELP" to her banner  .
The sentiment is totally "me"
And as if to prove a point...
While I was typing this post, I ended up having
a rather heated conversation with Hubby.
My Birthday is tomorrow....
I have told him for the past 35 years(we met on my 19th Birthday)
that I don't make a fuss on my Birthday..never have never will.
Yet I found out he was planning a meal out "for my Birthday".
I would rather have the money for craft stash!!!!
Needless to say those plans are now cancelled...
If it's a treat for me then ask me what I want...I don't like
surprises!!!
Me and Jaz will be just fine with craft stash and a take away thanks ;)

Enjoy XXX
