Don't be afraid...

At The Butterfly Effect this week, they have set the theme DREAMS/NIGHTMARES.
So I thought I'd share one of mine with you...

At first this image looks creepy...it was to me when I dreamt it.

"I was buried in the dark earth, in a dark forest. I could feel the cold as it crept through my body. The frosty coldness shocked me into climbing out from my "grave", through a mound of leaves. My heart was beating faster and faster as I pulled myself from the earth. I crawled, then stood up, then started to run....out of the darkness of the forest.
As I ran I began to feel joy...the sort that makes you feel like your choking on happiness. I laughed and shouted as I jumped with this joy......and turned into a large black crow!
I flapped my wings and soared into the night sky towards the rising sun and the warmth of the day."

If I had allowed fear to guide me, I would have woken myself from the dream right at the beginning when I was cold and surrounded by darkness, but because I was patient and brave...I received the gift of a beautiful freeing experience :D

You ARE in control of your dreams, you CAN choose not to be afraid!
Blessed Be, and sweetest dreams to you all :D XXX

  6. Yes, I like, nice. Now I would like to free myself from my nightmares in the dream itself. Sometimes it almost cost me rid of them once awake. Greetings.

  9. Your dream is fantastic! When I was younger, I use to control my dreams all the time, now, I find it harder. I have flown a lot, and I love that feeling. Now, sometimes, I feel my dreams are so real, and I am truly experiencing them. You are right, we can choose not to be afraid ;o)When I first looked at your drawing, I didn't find it creepy, I found it freeing. And, I love the colors ;o)
    Sweet dreams ;o)
(Your comment on my blog, about my crows and different facial expressions, made me smile, thanks!)

  13. i like the painting a lot. you know, your post spoke to me a lot because i always remember my dreams and often feel conflicted about them.
i know i'm in control of them, but sometimes it feels like my brain is not listening to me at all.

    1. You just have to remember that not everything we dream has meaning...it might just be something we ate :D
