August's page for Darcy's Altered Calendar Challenge
The original image was a black and white photo of Jimmi Hendrix...
While reading through for a "Poe" quote to use, I came across a poem called "Israfel", about an angel who sings and plays a lute....
and I knew it was perfect for Hendix.
First part of the challenge is to leave some of the original image visible...
Secondly, we were to stamp using found objects...
*technically I do this every page as I use a chopstick to stamp my lines*
The "add" item this month is a silhouette...
so I dug out these stamps from Joanna Sheen
They are quite tiny, but I like that they are "shushing" each other, so as to listen to the angelic sound of Israfel playing his lute...
The line from E.A. Poe's "Israfel"
Enjoy :D XXX
The combinations are perfect. Love your found objects, the wee faeries, and that quote is perfect. I've never read; off to read it now!
ReplyDeleteOops! I just noticed that I missed a word on my last sentence, lol! I meant I've never read "Israfel" before. I found this wonderful reading by Stephanie Swan Quills. Delicious!

ReplyDeleteGorgeous fairies, so special that they are listening.
Although I had heard the name Poe before, I did not know a single thing about him. You have made me want to read his stuff. no idea where to start though lol
